Правила доменов .GM
A .gm registration is available for those associated with the Republic of Gambia, a nation in western Africa. Since .gm is the top-level domain extension for Gambia, any entity connected with Gambia is eligible to register a .gm domain. A .gm domain selected by a registrant must relate to a company/organization name or product. The company, organization, institution, or individual must either be registered in Gambia or have close connections with the country.
The .gm extension was introduced in 1997 and since then it has maintained an active status among other domain names. The administrative power and authority of the .gm registration process is legally vested in the hands of GM-NIC, and the URL for registration services of .gm domain names is http://www.nic.gm. The general policies of NIC are primarily formed to support activities that enhance and boost Internet services in Gambia.
Second level domains are also registered by the GM-NIC under the .gm domain. However, there is no provision for registering third level domain names. Due to this, most Internet addresses under .gm registration have the format http//server.domain.gm. Therefore, you can create your own sub domains under their registered domain(s) using your own name servers. If any organization needs to protect its name, you can register a trademark which will be constantly checked by the administration.
There are a number of valid Gambian Internet service providers and registrars who can assist you in registering a .gm domain. Some of them are: AIRTIP, Gamtel, NetPage, QuantumNet, Aces, BnB, CyberSpaceMan and more.
Furthermore, there are certain restrictions that apply while choosing a valid domain name. Common Gambian personal names are not accepted. Terms that are offensive to the local culture will be rejected. The name can contain letters (A to Z) and the hyphen (-), but names containing numbers alone will not be accepted for .gm registration.
